BlackBerry Storm 3 On Horizon

RIM Sees BlackBerry Storm 3 On Horizon

Research In Motion is stepping up its aesthetics and functionality with the expected fall release of its latest BlackBerry Storm device.Research In Motion apparently is tired of hearing about how its smartphones aren't as user friendly and aesthetically pleasing as other Apple and Android models.
As Enterprise Mobile Today reports, some of the pertinent details about its forthcoming BlackBerry Storm 3 leaked out this week. Although it's not expected to be available until the fall, BlackBerry devotees might have something new to cheer about.
According to the Boy Genius Report website, the third iteration of the Storm line will feature the highest resolution display (3.7 inch, 800 x 480) in company history, a 1.2 GHz processor, quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE support, a 5-megapixel camera with 730p video recording and 8GB of eMMC storage.
Storm 3 will run on the BlackBerry 6.1 mobile OS and include 3G mobile hotspot support and an optical trackpad.
In December, The Nielsen Company issued a report that found that Apple's iOS and RIM's BlackBerry mobile operating systems were in a statistical dead heat atop the smartphone user pyramid at roughly 27 percent. Google's (NASDAQ: GOOG) Android mobile OS checked in second at 22 percent, well ahead of Windows Mobile (14 percent) and Nokia Symbian (3.4 percent).
