PM Gilani Says, No Expatriate Influence To Impose Taxes
Lahore, Pakistan News: The Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has said that there is no foreign influence on the government to impose taxes while the decision of reformed GST ( General Sales tax) was taken after taking all the four provinces into confidence, reported on Saturday Talking to the media men in a private hospital in Lahore after visiting Senator Gulzar Ali, who is ill and admitted in the hospital, the PM said that the bill cannot not be passed without the consent of all the provinces. He told the media that the reservations of all the stakeholders on the issue of reformed GST were addressed before presenting the bill in the parliament. Gilani also said that in past governments were toppled on charges of corruption. He assured everyone that the government is not anti-nation.
The Prime Minister added that there are no differences amongst the political parties of the country whereas all the mainstream parties are part of the government. Yousaf Gilani also termed the union of leagues as a good omen and that PPP has no concerns whatsoever on the union of all the leagues of the country. The PM briefed the media that the flood-tax would only be implemented for a period of six-months whereas the federal and the provincial governments would share the burden of relief equally.
Responding to a question, the PM said that Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif is an elderly person and that he (the PM) wishes to take him along on all the issues.
